Yep the water is 4ft. high as of last week, but it is dropping as we speak and warming up to spawning condition! 80* today in Merryville and forecast is the same for the weekend.

No Worries J.D. The river fish will be facing the banks on a high river, and facing the deeper water pools on dropping water pool. River fish really don't change their habits as they do it every day anyway.

i understand that but, my partner is a big sissy with his boat. we will give mcbride another shot. maybe the runoff and rain will muddy it up a bit and get some of them hawgs to move up. i have been to mcbride 3 times this year got one bite each day and caught two fish. no keepers and one died from choking on my lv500(american shad). ill make it up there next week for sure. my partner is putting on his new trolling motor and depth finder so we will see.

lv500 is a lucky craft lipless crankbait. it sounds like were going now, he changed his mind. were planning on going to pool 10 so i'll let you know. doing that on saturday, and going to chain lakes area of the cedar, to a back water lake area to catch a few things.

chain lakes area is a backwater area of the cedar river. theres a ton of bass, northern pike, and walleye. we found it at the end of last year, and have been waiting to get back in there. chunky bass and big northerns, sounds like a fun weekend. hopefully the weather will cooperate.
